A game purchased via Steam is not always exactly what you expected. But don’t worry: under certain conditions, you can still return a game and request a refund of your money.
How to Return a Game on Steam?

1st step:
Visit the Steam Support page by clicking the ” Help ” tab in the top menu, then clicking ” Steam Support .” Then select “ Games, software, etc. ”
2nd step:
In the search bar below, enter the name of the game you would like to return.
3rd step:
You will now be shown some suitable matches. In the Recent Purchases list, click the game you want to return.
4th step:
You will be shown details about the purchase. In the ” What’s the problem with this purchase? ” section, you need to click on ” I want to request a refund “.
5th step:
You will now be shown details such as the purchase date and playing time. Ideally, your playing time should be less than two hours. The purchase date should not be more than 14 days ago. After checking the details, click ” I would like to request a refund “.
6th step:
If you scroll down a little, you can select the type of refund . Normally you can request that you receive your money as Steam credit or a refund to the original payment method.
7th step:
You can then give a reason why you want to return the game. To do this, simply select the appropriate option from the drop-down menu. Under ” Notes: ” you can leave a comment about your reasoning. This can increase your chances of a successful return.
If you are satisfied with your entries, all you have to do is click on “ Submit application ”. Your request will then be processed by Steam Support in the following days. You will receive an answer by email.

Open Steam and click on the ” Help ” tab in the bar at the top. In the drop-down menu you now need to select “ Steam Support ”.

Game on Steam Return Policy
Steam is very strict about its return policy. Content that was purchased outside of Steam and then only activated via Steam cannot be returned. If you are caught cheating in a game and have received a ban from that game through the Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) system, you will no longer be able to make a return for that game.
Another rule also applies when returning games purchased via Steam: As a rule, you can only return games if you bought the game within the last 14 days and played the game for less than two hours .

To refund a game on Steam, you can follow these steps:
Launch the Steam client on your computer and log in to your Steam account.
Click on your account name in the top right corner of the Steam client and select “Account Details” from the drop-down menu.
On the Account Details page, find the “Store & Purchase History” section and click on the “View Purchase History” link.
Locate the game you want to refund from your purchase history. Click on it to open the game’s details page.
On the game’s details page, click on the “Request a refund” option.
Steam will present you with a list of refund reasons. Choose the most appropriate reason for your refund request.
Depending on your purchase history and playtime, Steam will inform you whether you’re eligible for an automatic refund or if you need to submit a request. If you’re eligible for an automatic refund, you can proceed with the refund process by following the instructions provided. If you’re not eligible for an automatic refund, you’ll need to submit a request to Steam Support.
If you need to submit a request, you’ll be redirected to the Steam Support website. Fill out the required information, including the reason for your refund request, and submit the form.
Wait for Steam Support to review your refund request. This process usually takes a few days. You’ll receive an email notification regarding the status of your request.
If your refund request is approved, the purchase amount will be refunded to your original payment method. Keep in mind that refunds are typically issued in the same currency and through the same payment method used for the original purchase.
Note: Steam has certain refund policies and guidelines that apply to refund requests. For example, there may be time restrictions on how long after the purchase you can request a refund, and there are limitations on refunding games with excessive playtime.
